Rural Ward 6 Community group hosted their Summer Social

On June 8th, Neighbours old and new gathered to share good company, news, and favourite dishes at Capstone Horse Farm and Stable (in a restored century-old barn). Local organizations shared some information, the Burlington Fire department brought out a fire truck and Burlington resident Helen and her son Calvin introduced everyone to centuries-old ceremonial Chinese tea traditions. Love My Neighbourhood in Mountainside

Oh my goodness, this program makes my heart so happy! And all the participants, everyone was so grateful for time spent together with neighbours in the local park. This event was so low key, easy to plan and i've never seen so many happy kids playing, adults having adult conversations (because the kids were off playing!). Smiles everywhere. We were wrapped up by 7pm and everyone had the best time -- it doesn't need to be big and extravagant. Just time spent together is the best!” Janelle Vanderveen

    White Pines Street Party

The Burlington Jr. Red Coates Marching Band joined the annual street party this year. They performed for about an hour and then offered an opportunity for our local kids to touch and see what instruments are used in the band. More neighbours joined the party this year as the street was activities into a bicycle rodeo for the kids, pickleball and corn hole activities. This event strengthens our neighborhood relationships with new families joining in this year.
