A Youth Framework is a plan that guides how the City supports, listens to, and works with young people. It makes sure youth have a real voice in shaping programs, spaces, and opportunities that matter to them.
The Framework outlines the City’s vision, values, and priorities for youth engagement, inclusion, and development. It aims to create equitable opportunities and meaningful experiences that empower young people to thrive and contribute to a vibrant, inclusive community.
Why It Matters
Helps youth and the City work together toward shared goals.
Ensures decisions about youth are made with youth.
Builds a community where young people feel heard, supported, and empowered.
What It Focuses On
1. Adapt to Voices and Trends Youth help make decisions, lead projects, and share ideas. All youth—no matter who they are, feel seen, respected, and supported.
2. Create Safe and Inclusive Spaces and Activities Safe, inclusive spaces where youth feel welcome and part of something bigger.
3. Empower Youth to Lead Chances to build skills, explore interests, and prepare for the future.
4. Strengthen Community Partnerships Working with schools, community organizations, and youth to make things happen
