Calling all Neighbours to help us! The City of Burlington is in the beginning stages of renovating specific neighbourhood parks:

  • Skate Park Feature Removal

    Due to some concrete issues, some skatepark concrete features have been removed to ensure public safety.

    Skate parks affected include:

    • Mountainside Park

    • Brant Hills Park

    • Palladium Park

    • Desjardins Park

    The skate parks will be open after the removal of the impacted features.

    Residents and skatepark users will have an opportunity to provide feedback on replacement options.

    Thank you to all of the residents who voted on the Cavendish Park options! The votes are in and here’s what you have selected.


    The preferred overall park design was Concept B: Open Green Space (61.3%)

    As a reminder, construction for the park improvements will begin in Fall 2024 and will take approximately 10 weeks to complete.

    Cavendish Park concepts are now available. The City of Burlington is asking local residents to vote on the concepts for the park.


    Take the survey and vote on the park concepts until April 19, 2024.

  • Port Nelson Park voting results

    The votes are in! Thank you to all residents who voted on the Port Nelson Park and natural playground concepts.


    The preferred overall park design was concept B (56.1%)

    The preferred natural playground was concept B, the Lighthouse Keeper’s Cabin (71.4%)


    We are reviewing your comments and suggestions for the park. We have noted some trends from the comments that we will consider in the final design, but we cannot promise they will be included.

    Construction for the park improvements is targeted for Spring/Summer 2024 with the park opening later Summer 2024.

    Port Nelson Park’s shoreline protection work is complete and the project is now in phase 2. The City of Burlington is asking local residents to vote on the concepts for the park and playground.

    The concepts were created using resident feedback from the online survey earlier in the year – thank you to everyone who provided feedback.

    Voting on the park and natural playground concepts will be open until January 21, 2024.
