Why is this project taking place?

The project is taking place due to public concerns raised by residents in the Sheldon Creek Neighbourhood concerning traffic and parking.

What events are scheduled for this project?

There will be two virtual public meetings to be held on June 16, 2022, and late August 2022. A series of traffic studies will be performed in May to June to identify the parking and traffic issues in the neighbourhood. Following the studies, appropriate alternative and recommended measures will be developed in July. Finally, a draft will be prepared for the City of Burlington in August. Following your feedback, a final report will be prepared in September.

What kind of traffic studies will be performed?

A series of traffic studies will be performed that will include collecting turning movement counts at intersections, recording traffic volume and speed along road sections, recording non-compliance with Stop controls at intersections, surveying cut through traffic, surveying current levels of parking and evaluating the current level of parking.

What are the treatments that are being considered?

Possible treatments include parking management, as well as a variety of traffic calming treatments such as speed humps, curb radius reductions, speed boards, and mini roundabouts at selected locations in the neighbourhood. You will have an opportunity to provide feedback on these treatments.

    How can I get involved?

You can get involved by participating in our two planned public meetings that will be online, completing the online survey and sharing your feedback.
