The City of Burlington and Halton Region are working together as we look at making the Prospect Street area safer for all!

The City of Burlington will be:

  • resurfacing and installing new bicycle facilities on Prospect Street from Grahams Lane to Cumberland Avenue.
  • completing resurfacing work on Dynes Road from Prospect Street to New Street, and the full length of Regency Court and Legion Road.
  • building protected intersections on Prospect Street for safer walking and cycling.

Halton Region will be:

  • installing Water and Waste Watermains on Prospect Street from Stevenson Drive to Cumberland Avenue as well as the full length of Regency Court and on Dynes Road from Prospect Street to Woodward Avenue.

    The City of Burlington is hosting a PIC for the Prospect St bikeways, renewal and watermain installations.

    The City of Burlington will be resurfacing and installing new bicycle facilities on Prospect Street from Grahams Lane to Cumberland Ave starting in 2024. In addition, the City of Burlington will be completing resurfacing work on Dynes Road from Prospect Street to New Street, and the full length of Regency Court and Legion Road. This is a joint project with the Region of Halton. The Region will be replacing Water and Wastewater Mains on Prospect Street from Stevenson Drive to Cumberland Ave as well as the full length of Regency Court and on Dynes Road from Prospect Street to Woodward Ave.

    This project will include the following features:

    • Resurfacing the roadway.
    • Spot curb and sidewalk replacement.
    • Installation of cycle tracks from Cumberland Ave to Guelph Line on Prospect Street
    • Installation of protected bike lanes from Guelph Line to Brant Street on Prospect Street
    • Protected Intersections at Brant Street and Guelph Line.
    • Reduction of lanes from Cumberland Ave to Guelph Line on Prospect Street.
    • Installation of new waste watermain from Stevenson Drive to Guelph Line on Prospect Street
    • Installation of new watermain on Prospect Street from Stevenson Drive to George Street and from Ashley Ave to Cumberland Ave
    • Street light relocations and improvements
    • Traffic Signal relocations and improvements
    • Installation of new watermain from Prospect Street to Woodward Ave on Dynes Road.
    • Installation of new watermain on Regency Court
    • Replacement water services from new watermain to property line curb stops, and replacement/rehabilitation of wastewater laterals from the new wastewatermain to the property line.


    This public information center is being held to provide residents and business owner’s with specific information about the upcoming construction project on Prospect Street, Dynes Road, Regency Court, Stevenson Drive, Tecumseh Drive and Legion Road. This PIC will be based on impacts to residential and business properties over the duration of the project and the work the City and the Region will be completing in front of each property.

    This PIC will give you the chance to see the project drawings, the schedule, and discuss any disruptions from the work.
    Starting at 6:00p.m., please drop in to review and comment on this project.
