Council Approves Residential Zoning Bylaws
At the March 2, 2026 Special Meeting of Council, Burlington City Council passed the New Zoning By-laws. This includes:
The New Zoning By-laws replace Zoning By-law 2020 for residentially zoned properties and reflect updated rules for housing and land use.
There is currently a 20-day appeal period in effect (until March 25, 2026). During this time the New Zoning By-laws are not yet in-effect, and there is some uncertainty about whether the New Zoning By-laws will apply.
