Central Park is a shared community space that supports organized sport, informal recreation and general park enjoyment. The City is reviewing how the park is currently being used, including the cricket pitch area, permitting practices and non-permitted play, to better understand opportunities to support a safe, functional and balanced experience for all park users. The Public Information Centre will provide an opportunity to share information and discuss next steps.

Cricket continues to grow in Burlington, and the City has identified a need to better understand and plan for future cricket capacity through the Live & Play Plan,. Central Park is one of the existing locations that supports cricket activity, and the City is reviewing how this space can continue to serve park users as part of broader community recreation needs.

To help residents, park users, and cricket players understand the upcoming changes, the City will be hosting an information session with participation of staff from Recreation, Community and Culture, Engineering Service’s and Bylaw Compliance.

    Residents will have an opportunity to ask questions and engage directly with City staff about the project.

    • Who to contact for various park issues
    • How resident feedback was used for addressing:
      • Changes in cricket field layout
      • Cricket permitting
    • Future improvements for the park
