The City of Burlington and the Burlington Accessibility Advisory Committee are developing its third Multi-year Accessibility Plan. This plan will be implemented for 2024-2028.
Tell us how we can remove barriers for everyone. Residents of all ages and abilities are encouraged to complete a survey and give their feedback. The survey will be open until Nov 27, 2023
The goal is to work towards creating at city where everyone feels they are welcome by making improvements to City programs, services and facilities so they are available to everyone of all ages and abilities. The results of Multi-year Accessibility Plan can benefit the community for years to come.
In-person engagement opportunity
Members of the Burlington Accessibility Advisory Committee (BAAC) will be at the Farmers’ Market at the Burlington Centre, 777 Guelph Line, on Saturday, Oct. 14 collecting feedback and available to answer questions about accessibility throughout the city.
BAAC will also be handing out materials to support Treat Accessibility, an initiative to let children with disabilities know they are welcome to experience Halloween without barriers at your home. Simple ways to improve Halloween’s accessibility include handing out treats at the end of the driveway and avoiding the use of strobe lights.
