What is this project about?
The City of Burlington is planning and building a new neighbourhood park at 1411 Almonte Dr.
The site was obtained through the development process and is currently an undeveloped grass field. The City is now seeking community input to help shape the park design and select a park name.
Why is this park being built?
The park block was secured through the Planning Act development application process as the surrounding communities were developed. The City is responsible for designing and constructing the new park for residents and visitors.
Where is the park located?
The Almonte Drive park is located at 1411 Almonte Dr., in the Brant Street and Upper Middle Road area.
What will be included in the park?
Park features will be influenced by resident input. The final park features have not yet been determined. We are asking residents how they would like to use the space so that community feedback can help inform the design concepts.

How will community feedback be used?
Input collected during engagement activities will be reviewed, organized into themes and considered in the development of park concepts. The City will publish a "What We Heard" report summarizing feedback received during each phase.
How many phases of engagement are there?
There are two phases:
Phase 1
Phase 2
Why is the City asking residents to help choose a park name?
The City wants the park name to reflect the community and local area. Residents will have an opportunity to suggest names during Phase 1 and vote on shortlisted names during Phase 2.
Has a park design already been chosen?
No. Community feedback gathered in Phase 1 will help inform the development of two design concepts. Residents will then be invited to review and vote on their preferred concept during Phase 2.
When will construction begin?
The detailed design and construction schedule are still being developed. As the project progresses, updates will be shared through the Get Involved Burlington project page.
How will residents learn about project updates?
Updates will be posted on the project's Get Involved Burlington page, which will serve as the primary source of information throughout planning, design and construction.
Will accessibility be considered in the design?
Yes. Accessibility is an important consideration for the project. The Burlington Accessibility Advisory Committee will be consulted on the park concepts and accessibility features during the design process.
